CCTP V2 introduces a powerful new feature in the TokenMessengerV2 contract called Hooks. This feature enables custom post-transfer logic on the destination chain when using the depositForBurnWithHook() function. Developers can now attach arbitrary hookData to CCTP transfers to trigger smart contract actions after USDC is minted, enabling auto-deposits, token swaps, protocol interactions, and more. Native USDC and CCTP V2 are live on Linea
Linea, Consensys’ zkEVM Layer-2, is officially the first blockchain to transition from bridged to native USDC. This upgrade took place without any developer code changes or user actions. Bridged USDC on Linea has been automatically upgraded to native USDC for immediate use within your applications, and the integration of CCTP V2 enables you to transfer USDC to and from Linea more efficiently and securely than before.
